SEX AND GENDER

The Seven Types Of Sexuality
Heterosexuality-  Is the sexual attraction between members of the opposite sexes  such as man attracts to woman and woman attracts to man sexually.
Homosexuality- is the sexual attraction between members of the same sexes such as man to man and woman to woman.sexually.
Bisexuality- Is the sexual attraction to both the opposite and same sexes such as man to man and man to woman, woman to woman and woman to man.
Asexuality- Is also known as non sexuality which is the lack of sexual attraction and sexual interest towards others.
Polysexuality-  Is the sexual attraction to more than one gender but do not wish to be known as bisexual as it implies that their are only two binary sexes, do not confuse this with pansexuality (Pan meaning All) and (Poly meaning many).
Pansexuality- Is the sexual attraction towards people regardless of gender also known as omnisexuality, some pansexuals refer to themselves as gender blind as to them gender is  insignificant in determining whether they will be sexually attracted to others.
Transexualism - Is when a person identifies themselves with a physical sex that is different to their own biological one, A medical diagnosis can be made if a person experiences discomfort as a result of a desire to be a member of the opposite sex. for example a person may be born male, and is uncomfortable with their gender as a male  and changes to a female, or a female may change to a male. It is a long process that they will go through and an expensive one too.

DOUBLE ENTENDRE

Double entendre

double entendre is a figure of speech or a particular way of wording that is devised to be understood in either of two ways, having a double meaning. Typically one of the interpretations is rather obvious whereas the other is more subtle. The more subtle of the interpretations may convey a message that would be socially awkward, sexually suggestive or offensive to state directly.
A double entendre may exploit puns to convey the second meaning. Double entendres generally rely on multiple meanings of words, or different interpretations of the same primary meaning. They often exploit ambiguity and may be used to introduce it deliberately in a text. Sometimes a homophone (i.e. another word which sounds the same) can be used as a pun. When three or more meanings have been constructed, this is known as a "triple entendre", etc.
Double entendre examples:
  • 1. Michael Buerk, as he watched Phillippa Forrester cuddle up to a male astronomer for warmth during BBC1's UK eclipse coverage: "They seem cold out there, they're rubbing each other and he's only come in his shorts."
  • 2. Clair Frisby talking about a jumbo hot dog on 'Look North' said: "There's nothing like a big hot sausage inside you on a cold night like this."
  • 3. Carenza Lewis, about finding food in the Middle Ages on 'Time Team Live', said: "You'd eat beaver if you could get it."
  • 4. A female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and hadn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: "So Bob, where's that eight inches you promised me last night?"
  • 5. Willie Carson was telling Claire Balding how jockeys prepare for a big race
  • when he said: "They usually have four or five dreams a night about coming from different positions."
  • 6. US PGA Commentator: "One of the reasons Arnie (Arnold Palmer) is playing so well is that, before each tee shot, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them".
  • 7. Metro Radio: "Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field."

Triple entendre example: Rush' album 'Moving pictures' which shows a carrying paintings out of a building while people are shown being emotionally moved and a film crew makes a "moving picture" of the whole scene.

IDEAS *FOLK ART*

Idea 1

Arboles de la Vida
I have came up with the idea of turning the tree of life into a story that would appear in a mummers play. Usually the tree's are made of clay but I want to try and use recycled materials such as clothes, toys, containers and whatever objects I find which will fit into the story. With me using any materials I find my art will become an contemporary expression of folk art. My idea has been influenced by Oscar Soteno Elias' 'Tree of life'. When I first saw Oscar's 'Tree of life' I thought it was made out of plastic toys as they were do brightly colored and looked quite cartoon like.

Idea 2

Another one of my ideas is too create something along the lines of the tree of life. I want to basically come up with something I can make out of recyclable materials which relates/translates too penis/vagina but not necessarily in such an obvious way. For an example flowers remind me off vagina's for a few reasons so I could use flowers to represent the vagina or I could go a little bit more deeper into the flowers and use orchid's to represent the penis and originally orchid translated too penis.

Idea 3

My artwork usually adapts from something which happens everywhere around the world. Within my work I show my response and feelings towards the subject. Often I over exaggerate my work to take the piss.
