Student Heather Wilkinson is suffering a mild mental breakdown due to Pre-University stress. Will she be able to cope? Heather Wilkinson, aged 18, is currently a student at North Nottinghamshire college trying to pursue her dream of working within the creative Industry. On the 6th of November 2014 I visited the college to look at some of the students work and give them a bit of advice on how they could improve their skills and methods of there work/working. Whilst I was at the college I came across Heather who was working on a logo design for The Hub, a place within the college where the teachers go to talk about the improvements that can be made within the college and their teaching. Heather had various logo designs scattered across her computer screen which in my opinion looked messy so I thought I would give her a bit of advice.
When I introduced myself to Heather she was more than happy to have a chat with me and was very welcoming. She put her work based on The Hub onto the screen for me to analyse. The first thing I noticed was how un-organised she was with her work, she had screenshots, photographs and documents all over her desktop screen which she was getting frustrated with when she couldn't find the correct document. To start with she started with showing me her research to do with the word hub and telling me what The Hub was about, she gave me a little information but not as much I would've liked to of heard. She then began showing me her first design. I though't for first design was too block like and it didn't have no wow factor. One thing I did like about her first piece of work was that she could put colors together nicely. A lot Heather's logo's were the same but in different positions and colors. It was nice seeing her explore her options to see what she could change and improve.
